Meet Alicia

Alicia Paradies, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), received her Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from California State East Bay, and her California Educator Accreditation in Multiple Subjects, and (as a) Public Sector Educator. In her role as CFO, Ms. Paradies serves to manage all Club procedures related to finances and human resources. This includes accounting, payroll, financial operations, insurance coverage, legal requirements, safety, employee relations and training, and employee compensation and benefits. Oversight of Human Resources and staff development and training includes assuring Boys & Girls Clubs of Anaheim-Cypress professionals receive up-to-date training in youth development and trauma-informed care. Ms. Paradies has been with the BGCGAC since 2012, with a promotion to Office Manager in 2015, given training provided by the nonprofit accounting firm Fohrman & Fohrman in preparation to manage the financials for the organization. Following her demonstration of dedication to the position and fiscal integrity, Ms. Paradies was promoted to Director of Finance and Human Resources in 2018, and Chief Financial Officer in 2022. During her tenure at the BGCGAC, Ms. Paradies has led the following successful projects: merger consolidation of two separate accounting systems; implementation of detailed grant allocation recording and reporting procedures; preparation of annual audits from 2017-2021 in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) standards; and review and bi-annual updates to the organization’s Financial Manual and Procedures.
