About Us

ABOUT US

In every community, boys and girls are left to find their own recreation and companionship in the streets.

An increasing number of children are at home with no adult care or supervision.

Young people need to know that someone cares about them.

Boys & Girls Clubs offer that and more. Club programs and services promote and enhance the development of boys and girls by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence.

Boys & Girls Clubs are a safe place to learn and grow – all while having fun. It is the place where great futures are started each and every day.

OUR MISSION
To inspire and empower all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
OUR VISION
Provide a world-class Club experience that assures success is within reach of every young person who walks through our doors, with all members on track to graduate from high school with a plan for the future.

OUR VALUES
  • Our focus is always on doing what is best for the children and teens we serve.
  • We value honesty and integrity in everything we do.
  • We value open, honest, and respectful communication among our board and staff.
  • We work collaboratively to achieve our objectives.
  • We are actively involved in supporting and promoting the Club in our community.

OUR HISTORY

On July 1, 2019 the Boys & Girls Clubs of Anaheim and the Boys & Girls Club of Cypress merged. Together we are creating a bold vision for the future of youth development. We are combining our strengths to provide a world-class Club experience across a broader service area and position the Club for additional strategic growth to serve the community members who don’t yet have a local Club.

Established in 1989, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Anaheim is a 501(c)3 non-profit, youth development and leadership agency. We are a leader in youth development, providing programs and services for boys and girls that many youth-serving, fee based agencies fail to reach. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Anaheim provides a place for thousands of children in Anaheim to obtain a sense of belonging, take control of their lives, and work towards achieving their goals.

Established in 1975, the Boys & Girls Club of Cypress has provided free and low-cost after-school and summer program activities for school-age children of local residents and business employees.

OUR GREAT  PAST

Boys & Girls Clubs of America had its beginnings in 1860 with three women in Hartford, Connecticut - Mary Goodwin, Alice Goodwin and Elizabeth Hammersley. Believing that boys who roamed the streets should have a positive alternative, they organized the first Club. With character development as the cornerstone of the experience, the Club focused on capturing boys interests, improving their behavior and increasing their personal expectations and goals. A cause was born.
